Khabib Nurmagomedov Responds To Tony Ferguson's UFC 216 Win

Above is live video of the event's post-fight press conference which kicks off approximately 30 minutes after the main event between Ferguson and Lee comes to a close (courtesy of the UFC).

His previous professional MMA fight was in November 2016, when the Notorious knocked out Eddie Alvarez to clinch the lightweight title.

In the co-main event of UFC 216 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mighty Mouse was taken five rounds by Ray Borg but never looked in serious trouble on his way to retaining the UFC flyweight championship, a month after their fight was originally scheduled to take place.

After the fight, Ferguson challenged McGregor to come back to the UFC to defend his belt and fight him.

He said: "Nobody has ever talked about Diaz - that's internet bulls**t".

"Tony is the interim champion, Conor is the champion". It's the fight that has to happen'.

Despite rumors swirling indicating that a trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz could be in the works, the fight to make is a bout between McGregor and Ferguson.

Holm fought for the women's featherweight title at UFC 208 earlier this year and was narrowly defeated by Germaine de Randamie, who has since vacated the belt. "So I kneed him, and then I shook his weight - I shifted his weight, and when he shifted, he went back and threw and elbow, and I was like, 'Got you'".

He said: "Tony's a busy guy". And Conor's awesome. There's no way that's not a great fight.

Ferguson himself fuelled talk of a bout with McGregor even further by calling out the Irishman immediately after his victory over Lee.

Whether it's late this year or sometime in 2018 though, White is convinced that this particular match-up would make for a highly entertaining spectacle. Would you rather see McGregor take on Diaz or Ferguson first? Have YOUR say in the comments section below.
