ICAI president daughter's body found on Mumbai railway tracks

According to social media posts, the family was anxious when she did not reach home on Wednesday evening. A passenger saw her falling from the train around 6.30 pm and called the RPF helpline. She was on her way home from work when the fatal incident occurred.

According to media reports, Pallavi was last seen boarding a train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CSMT) station towards Thane at 6 pm.

The young woman reportedly fell off the train after which another train ran over her.

Police had found the body of a girl on the tracks between Parel and Currey Road station earlier.

The police after sending the body to the KEM Hospital has launched a probe into her death case. "We have been looking along the railway tracks but we have not found the phone". Reports say 21-year-old Pallavi had sent the SMS to her parents before her phone was switched off. On Friday evening Pallavi's relatives confirmed that it was her body, said a senior official.

Later, the body was handed over to them after post-mortem, he said. "Investigation is going on".

Police said Pallavi had sent text messages to her family members before leaving office on Wednesday evening saying she meant to end her life. After she sent a message "no one is responsible" to her sister-in-law, Vikamsey's family panicked and went to her office where her handbag was found. The Dadar railway police, probing the death of Parel resident Pallavi, recorded the statement of Geeta Gaikwad, a BMC employee who was travelling in the same train as Pallavi on Wednesday. As per the preliminary inquiry, there seems to be no foul play. Inspector Bobde added that they have also recorded the statement of the station master and the point's man who took the police to the spot. They are also scanning CCTVs to understand what happened. We informed them that she had left from office.

The deceased girl had recently completed studies and was interning at a law firm in Fort.
