Fake currency oxygen for terrorism: Rajnath Singh

"Subsequently, NIA 's action (on separatists) has stopped the fund flow for terror activities and their morale has been hit", he said.

Inaugurating the new headquarters of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, he said no civilised country can accept the growth of terrorism on its soil. He even flagged the issue of circulation of fake Indian currency, describing it as "oxygen for terrorism".

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that Pakistan's nefarious design to export terror has been thwarted by India after successfully eliminating infiltrators from all across the border.

The Union Home Minister said the NIA recently launched a crackdown on terrorism funding in the Kashmir Valley sponsored from a hostile neighbouring country and their accomplices in third countries overseas.

Other security agencies, the Army and State police organisations coordinated with the NIA in the elimination of a good number of terrorists, he said.

The Home Minister said the NIA had constraints of infrastructure, but it faced the challenge of collecting evidence and investigation scientifically.

"I will soon take up the demand for setting up the Vishwakarma Community Development Corporation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to celebrate Vishwakarma Jayanthi across the country", he assured the backward community on the occasion.

Singh also claimed that India has taken remarkable steps to highlight the menace of terrorism in the worldwide forums.

"The NIA has established its credibility and impartiality in the last eight years through professional and scientific investigation", he said.

The process to sanitise the Kashmir Valley of terror elements has been catalysed, the Home Minister said, adding, "Everyday, the forces are successful in killing 5-6 terrorists".
