Doctor Abuses, Kicks Patient Out Of Clinic After Altercation

A Florida doctor who was caught on video shouting obscenities at a patient in a clinic waiting room said he "overreacted" but that the viral video didn't capture what he called abusive behavior by the woman beforehand.

Jessica Stipe, 38, posted the video of the incident on Facebook and wrote that she asked Gallogly how much longer she had to wait to be seen.

In the video, Stipe is seen complaining to the doctor about the long waiting time. "It's 7.45 and we've already been working on you".

He then fires back with: "Then fine, get the hell out, get your money and get the hell out, see you later".

Stipe asked for her copay to be refunded so she could go to a different clinic the next day "because I'm just that miserable that all I want is my bed".

Regarding the doctor's statements, Stipe said they were "absolutely not true".

Gallogly was referring to patient Jessica Stipe and her teen daughter, who took the video on her cellphone.

The doctor released a statement to FOX 35 saying,"Ms. Stipe had been increasingly belligerent and abusive to office staff, cursing them and threatening them with violence", allegations which she has denied. "All they had me do was pee in a cup to see if I'm pregnant", Stipe wrote.

Officer Ben Tobias, a spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, said an investigation has been launched into Gallogly's actions.

Stipe posted a video of the entire episode on her Facebook page Monday night, which was viewed more than 200,000 times and shared more than 3,400 times at the time of publishing this article. "You know this was uncalled for & for those of you who don't and are being rude and hateful to me and my child". Does that take three seconds, do you think?

Nearly at the end of the video, it shows the mom saying that she just wanted to go to her home and lay on her bed, and Gallogly proceeded to point right to the door saying "Then fine".

He said the video was heavily edited and taken out of context.

After the video spread throughout social media, Stipe said in a statement Tuesday that she was still sick and exhausted but wanted to set the record straight. Stipe responds that she wants to go home and lay in bed.

"Go to the ER and wait nine hours!" he yells at one point.

After the encounter, the Gainesville after-hours clinic posted a response from the doctor on Facebook. "Get the [expletive] out of my office".

She later told WSMH that she believes Gallogly was attempting to delete the video before throwing the phone back at them.

"At the very end of the events", he said in the statement, "I most regrettably lost my temper, and spoke to the women in a most unprofessional manner". "I make no excuses for my unacceptable behavior".
