Bhansali's period-drama 'Padmavati' looks every bit the director's promise

Bhansali's period-drama 'Padmavati' looks every bit the director's promise

The promotional clip with its entire dazzle also shows the grim and dark side of the story especially the war, the death and the bloodshed. Rano Padmini or Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) will play Shahid's Wife in the movie and has a major role and Deepika looking outstandingly handsome as usual. Ranveer Singh, one of the main leads of the film, who is overwhelmed by the response took to his social media accounts to thank everyone for their love and kind wishes. We wonder how Ranbir would have reacted after seeing the power-pack trailer!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming movie "Padmavati" is said to be the biggest Bollywood movie of the year.

Padmavati trailer will be revealed today at 13.03 (12 Hour Format - 1.03pm).

When the trailer dropped tomorrow, we saw a tweet from the director of "Baahubali" SS Rajamouli, who praised 'Padmavati', by writing "Each frame etched to perfection by the master craftsman". As it is already understood by many, it is the essence of details in the posters of Padmavati that prove everything Bhansali can do. She performed self-immolation to defend her honour against a Muslim invader, Alauddin Khalji who conquered her kingdom Chittor. Apparently, Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor's character) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh's character) started their battle in 1303 AD that's why this unique time was chosen for the launch.

Shot with the signature Sanjay Leela Bhansali style of storytelling, the film oozes history and intricacy.

Not just the protagonists, the B-Town celebs are looking extremely hopeful for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest venture. The trailer encapsulates beatific moments of love between Maha Rawal Ratan Singh and Rani Padmini.

Ranveer makes a fleeting appearance after a minute into the trailer and he is mostly seen on the battleground.
