The Bengals Can't Score And AJ Green Is Tired Of It

Zampese was sacked on Friday after the Bengals failed to score a touchdown and managed only nine points total in their first two games, both losses. He was the quarterbacks coach through the entirety of Palmer's career in Cincinnati and for all of Andy Dalton's time there, short of the past two seasons since he ascended in the hierarchy to offensive coordinator.

The Bengals lost 13-9 to the Houston Texans on Thursday, dropping to 0-2 after a second successive home loss, which followed a 20-0 shutout at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.

"It's hard to win many games when we don't score touchdowns", Lewis said on Friday, before the team announced Zampese had been fired.

Zampese took over the job last season after Hue Jackson left to fill the head coaching position in Cleveland. "We have a lot of talent on offense, and we need to keep working to take full advantage of the personnel we have".

"No, I'm not anxious about Andy", Lewis said when asked if there will be a quarterback change in Cincinnati. He looked up at the ceiling momentarily, sighed, and began answering questions about why the offense hadn't scored a touchdown in two games. We've been struggling on offense, getting to the red zone. Lazor last coordinated the Miami Dolphins in 2014 and 2015.

"That catch, there were three dudes on me", Green said.

Prior to Zampese's 18-game stint at OC, he had been the Bengals quarterback coach since 2003. Ryan was ultimately fired in Week 16, but the Bills did respond to Anthony Lynn replacing Roman by winning their next four games and averaging more than 23 points per contest.

"We are playing like sh- right now", Green said, not stopping there.

"What we need to do - the (offensive) philosophy - is to score as many points as we can to beat the Packers".
