Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte may arrive sooner than we thought

Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte may arrive sooner than we thought

It's not even autumn yet but people are already going mad for pumpkin spice-themed everything. Pumpkin Spice Latte season is upon us. It not only smells like the famous PSL, but also has packaging that mimics a Starbucks cup, with "x" s inside boxes that read "paraben-free", "pthalate-free", and "aluminum-free". In the comments of the video, Starbucks wrote that this year "the official launch of PSL season in the U.S. will be the same day for everyone".

You've waited with bated breaths for each to arrive, and now Starbucks wants you to behold the 2017 birth of its favorite fall drink.

This year, Starbucks is milking the official debut of its most popular seasonal drink with a four-day Facebook livestream starting at 12 p.m. Friday to share the "journey" of the PSL. It is made with pumpkin spice sauce with real pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg, espresso and steamed milk.

She isn't the only one. Starbucks suggests adding a splash of cream and a bit of sugar to evoke the favors of the handcrafted PSL drink. So anticipated that Starbucks baristas created a digital "support group" to vent about, and prepare for, the upcoming frenzy.

This year, customers started ordering the Pumpkin Spice Latte on September 1, even though Starbucks had not formally announced the beverage's launch date.

But there's a catch: The doughnut will only be available for one day.

Making people feel like they're part of a special club who can order from a secret menu helps build hype for the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
