Kohli better in ODIs: Clarke

Kohli better in ODIs: Clarke

India and Australia will play five ODIs and three T20 Internationals, starting with the first 50-over game here on September 17. Australian Skipper stated that his one day side are much better in handling spin and are still on a learning curve as a side in Test arena. We have got to play them well throughout the series.

"If you're asking me. bloody oath but you'll have to talk to someone who makes a decision", Stoinis said when asked if he would like to be in the Test side. The likes of Smith, David Warner, the support staff; they've got to work towards finding what is the right technique and style for these players. He was suspended for drunken driving in 2015, dropped for the 2017 Champions Trophy, but Faulkner keeps coming back. "Conditions in Test matches and ODIs are a lot different".

In 2013-14, when Australia last visited the country for a seven-match ODI series, Kohli had scored 344 runs in five innings at an average of 114.66, including two hundreds and two fifties.

His numbers from 67 ODIs are impressive - 988 runs at 34.06 and 95 wickets at 30.08. Months before the 2019 World Cup, they'll travel to New Zealand, where they failed to win a single match last time around in 2014. In that sense, this series serves a different objective for India.

According to Laxman, there are two slots that India are looking to fill or have more options for. I mean the openers, top-order, the fast bowling department, we've the most experience wicketkeeper-batsman in the world.

He spoke about the India-Australia duels. "We will be happily sponsoring Ashwin and Jadeja to play for us if India don't need them for the first three games".

"I am surprised why Lyon is not in the squad".

"Playing under him in the IPL has ensured that he has a clear idea as to what is my strength and weakness and I am sure that helps him to decide on how he wishes to use me". "I believe the roadmap is already in place and experimentation has started already as was seen during the Sri Lanka series". Adam Zampa is a promising leg-spinner but he still needs to prove his worth.

Clarke was asked about whether this side, led by Smith, is the weakest to tour India, considering they did not even qualify for the Champions Trophy semifinal. "No doubt about that... they are our two main bowlers", Clarke asserted. The Royal Challengers Bangalore duo are trying to replicate similar success with the national team as Kohli has been backing the spinner in ODIs and T20Is.
