JBL introduces three smart speakers with Google Assistant

HARMAN has announced new speakers featuring Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This JBL LINK range of speakers comes with JBL's Signature Sound with the Google Assistant.

Not only does this mean that you get access to Alexa and all of the things she can do, but you can also control this speaker purely with your voice. The voice service by the Samsung-owned Harman allows the consumers to talk to a smart assistant that can tell you basic information, word definition, the weather or traffic situation, or even tell you new deals on Amazon.

All three also have built-in Chromecast support for easy music streaming over Wi-Fi, high-resolution audio support and Bluetooth for streaming from all manner of mobile devices and computers. Just link JBL's other speakers, these LINK speakers can be daisy-chained together to help create a multi-room effect. The clear upper section houses lighting that reacts to both voice commands and the rhythm of the music you're listening to, giving you something of a light show to watch as you use the speaker.

"We're excited, to integrate with Amazon Alexa to deliver a lovely speaker with astounding audio coupled with all the intelligent features of Alexa", said Michael Mauser, President, Lifestyle Audio Division at HARMAN. The Link 20 meanwhile offers double the battery life, at 10 hours and increases audio output to 2 x 10 Watts of power.

Then for those who are after something a bit more robust, there is the LINK 300 which will be bigger and will offer up a more "powerful sound". The JBL LINK series with the Google Assistant will be available at JBL online store and at selected retailers in the UK, Germany, and France starting fall 2017.
