How do you feel about NFL players kneeling during the national anthem?

"It's not about race; it's not about free speech".

"Players have the right for free speech off the field", Mnuchin told CNN's Jake Tapper on Sunday. The president doubled down on his initial statement Sunday and tweeted that: "If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast".

Trump's comments drew a quick rebuke from some prominent athletes, notable among them National Basketball Association star Stephen Curry, who said that he would not be joining his team, the NBA champion Golden State Warriors, during a (then) planned visit to the White House. "On the field, this is about respect for lots of people and I don't understand why there's rules that when the Dallas Cowboys wanted to put stickers on their helmets out of respect for people there, they couldn't do it".

While the US president hoped a military attack would not be necessary as the United Nations aimed to halt Pyongyang's nuclear weapon development through economic sanctions, Kim's regime is likely to be riled by the threat and lack of respect. "On the field, this is about respect", he said.

Republican adviser Karl Rove called Trump a "loser in the minds of the American people" after the president said, "get that son of a b***h off the field" regarding protesting National Football League players. "You know, some owner is going to do that".

Meanwhile, Mike Tomlin, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, announced Sunday his team would not "participate in the anthem" in the evening's game against the Chicago Bears. "Fire or suspend", he wrote.

Host Martha Raddatz also asked Mnuchin about Trump referring to players as "sons of bitches".

Kaepernick, who is now without a team, told NFL Media last August: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color". Boring games yes, but many stay away because they love our country. His department is the main source of the U.S.'s global sanctions, but it is unclear if he will make the announcement when he addresses the media.
