Heitkamp, Cramer plan to join Trump in North Dakota

The topic of the day is tax reform, one of President Trump's top priorities. We are the highest taxed nation in the world - that will change. And your senator, Claire McCaskill, she must do this for you.

But in a nod to Heitkamp, a vulnerable Democrat running for reelection, Trump will say that North Dakota's energy boom, "is a reminder of what can happen when we promote American jobs instead of obstructing them". According to the right-leaning Tax Foundation, the USA comes in third out of 188, behind the United Arab Emirates and Puerto Rico. "If she doesn't do it for you, you have to vote her out office", he told the crowd.

President Donald Trump aims to pitch tax reform as an opportunity for bipartisan cooperation during a speech Wednesday in North Dakota, where he'll be joined by the state's Democratic senator. "And those companies are going to produce jobs".

Even looking at the top marginal tax rate for the highest income earners, the USA ranks in the middle of the pack among OECD countries - with the 18th-highest marginal statutory rate.

[A] couple of other places beat out the US, outside of OECD countries. "Now more than ever, I hope President Trump uses this visit to address the kitchen-table issues that keep the North Dakotans I've met with across the state this past month up at night".

That is because Heitkamp will be a special guest in Trump's traveling delegation, jetting with him from Washington aboard Air Force One in what the White House is trumpeting as the first indication of bipartisan support for overhauling the tax code.

But the most comprehensive measure to judge Trump's claim, combining both corporate and individual taxes actually paid, is tax burden as a percentage of GDP. Some North Dakota lawmakers say the president's tax vision is just what their constituents need. Her only would-be opponent thus far, Republican state Sen.

The White House said it was unclear whether Heitkamp would eventually endorse Trump's tax reform plan once details of a reform bill are released. Cramer says the president needs to reassure working class North Dakotans his vision for a tax code overhaul is easy to understand.
