Dead, Including Suspected Gunman, in Shooting in North Texas Home

The suspect, who was killed by the responding officer, hasn't been identified by authorities, but the mother of one victim told a Dallas TV station that the shooter was her daughter's ex- husband. The shooting reportedly occurred as people were gathered in the house to watch a Dallas Cowboys football match.

Police found seven partygoers dead and two others wounded.

Mr Rushin said the officer approached the house from the back and saw bodies in the back yard before confronting the suspect inside. It is not clear if the eight dead includes the suspect.

Plano police have not given names for the victims, though said at a Monday afternoon press conference that they were in the 20s and 30s.

Behind the police tape outside the home are still cars that line up against the road marking the spot of the shooting.

"That's still unclear", said Officer David Tilley, a spokesman for the Plano police.

Plano police have not confirmed the identities of those who were killed, but they're believed to be in their 20s and 30s.

Crystal Sugg, an eyewitness who works at a nearby nursing home, said she heard a really loud argument outside the home that lasted for about fifteen minutes before the shooting started. She opened her door and smelled gunpowder. Police said early Monday that W. Spring Creek between Green Oaks and Blue Ridge will be closed for several hours while the homicide investigation continues. Police say they responded to reports of shots fired.

"I seen a man argue with a woman".

The shooting, in which the suspect was also killed, happened around 8pm in the city just northeast of Dallas.

"We've never had a shooting of this magnitude", Rushin said.
