Coutinho cleared for Liverpool return following Klopp talks

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Coutinho, Brazil legend Ronaldinho has insisted that Liverpool fans should not be anxious.

The 25-year-old is yet to feature for Liverpool this season, but Ronaldinho believes his compatriot will not go on strike.

It's unclear if Coutinho will be involved against Manchester City on Saturday but reports he will refuse to play for the Reds are wide of the mark, according to fellow Brazilian Ronaldinho.

The Brazilian, who saw his transfer request rejected despite a number of big money bids from Spanish giants Barcelona, has missed the opening of the season due to a back injury and illness, but was mysteriously fit to play for his country during the recent global break.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have all been excellent so far this season so I think we'll see Klopp stick with those three in attack meaning Coutinho may have to make do with a place on the bench for now.

Philippe Coutinho is back with Liverpool after playing for Brazil. Barcelona submitted multiple offers reaching as high as £138million, but the Anfield club stood firm and rejected the bids for a player they always insisted they had no intention of selling.

"I know him [and] that is not his way".

Philippe Coutinho looked to be in good spirits as he joked with Alberto Moreno in training at Liverpool's base at Melwood on Thursday.

"Nothing else to say, actually, so he's back and we had a really good conversation, so good".

However, with a return to Champions League football this year - in a decidedly easy group - the club will need all of its players fit, ready and committed to make a success of the 2017/18 season.
