BSF jawan killed in Pakistani firing

India's Border Security Force (BSF) said that Pakistani soldiers fired at several positions along the volatile global border.

"BSF troops retaliated strongly and gave befitting reply", he said.

The exchanges of firing between the Indian soldiers and the Pakistan terrorists continued till Friday morning.

"Unprovoked firing by Pak forces on BSF posts across Jammu IB injured 3 BSF troopers (in Poonch & Jammu districts yesterday)", the Border Security Force (BSF) had said in a tweet. They are utilizing mortars, automatics and little arms to target nine BSF posts in Arnia.

The 32-year-old officer had a place with Vidya Bhawan Naraypur town in Uttar Pradesh's Balia locale.

There have been continuous ceasefire violations going on from the Pakistani side along the IB for the last four months. A civilian also got injured in the incident.

Islamabad accused the Indian troops of "deliberately targeting" civilians and termed it "deplorable and contrary to human dignity and worldwide human rights and humanitarian laws". Till August 1, there have been 285 such actions by the Pakistan army, while in 2016, the number was significantly less at 228 for the entire year, according to figures by the Indian Army.

The authorities have kept emergency services in readiness to meet any eventuality due to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
