Bradford shreds Saints to spoil Peterson's return to Minnesota

The first week of the NFL regular season wraps up tonight with a Monday Night Football double-header, featuring the New Orleans Saints at the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Chargers at the Denver Broncos.

Kickoff for is set for 7:10 p.m. ET. He expects to receive one of the biggest roles in the offense, yet the team views him as a part-time player most effective as part of a three-headed backfield rotation.

They've met three times in the playoffs with the Vikings having the edge there, 2-1.

Ordinarily when an National Football League player is set to become a free agent, a team can still retain said player for two additional years by using the franchise tag. Bradford was given time, and he made three ideal throws and altered the course of the game. Saints' Quarterback Drew Brees did not perform much as well, he only made a passing for 291 yards.

The next thing just happened to be playing for a team that opened its season against his old team.

The Saints had a real tough gameplay, and their defense needed more polishing.

Peterson added that as long as the Saints win, he doesn't really care how they do it, adding that he doesn't want to his highly hyped return to Minnesota to be a distraction for his team. I think we did a good job at making plays, kept [Drew Brees] off the field.

New Orleans has a very young and inexperienced secondary, and this was glaringly obvious on Monday night.

Adrian Peterson, once as fine a running back as ever trampled a defense, is in that shell-of-his-former-self phase of his career. "He was a free agent". Brandon Coleman will step in for Snead while he nestles in a hole in his couch.

New Orleans pinned the Vikings at their own 5-yard line with 1:43 before half.

I'm not going to drastically alter my projections for the Saints' running backs, because I never expected them to have one of their best rushing days on the road against a stout Vikings defense that earned five Pro Bowl selections past year. Kamara and Ingram were on the field together a handful of times. He was my top rated cornerback in the draft this year. The night was not all about Bradford, as many other players had stellar performances, as well. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

New Orleans knows what it has in Ingram, who is in his seventh season with the team. Kyle Rudolph had a touchdown reception, too.

Third-and-1 at the Minnesota 14, and the Vikings go back to the rookie running back, who uncorks a 10-yard gain that gives the Vikings room to breathe and Bradford a green light.

Meanwhile, the Vikings offense has a good matchup with a porous Saints defense. As for Gedeon, he appeared on the stat sheet with two solo tackles.

The biggest weakness for Minnesota could be their head coach.

"We'll keep that confidential but, uh, yeah", Peterson said.

"They took a chance on me, bringing me into this organization, so it's important for me to come out here and compete for those guys", Cook said.
