Apple iPhone X Features Slightly Larger Battery Than The iPhone 8 Plus

Despite that, Apple estimates that the iPhone X's battery will last about two hours longer than the iPhone 7 Plus. That excludes other costs, including manufacturing, software and research and development. Apple's iPhone 7 cost $649, while Apple paid about $401 for the components. After blowing the cover of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, China's Tenaa reveals and finally confirms the 2716mAh cell, 3GB RAM and 2.4GHz A11 Bionic details of the 5.8-inch "edge-to-edge" model.

One source says only tens of thousands of iPhone X units are being churned out daily with the expected ship date coming up in early November.

If turns out to be accurate, the iPhone x pre-orders will set a new record for a single smartphone model, regardless of the maker and the operating system.

The rumors simply won't go away that Apple is having production challenges with the iPhone X. For months, there has been concern that ongoing problems would result in constrained iPhone X supply at launch and into 2018.

IHS attributes the rise in the cost of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus to several features, including the new A11 Bionic chip, the neural engine (utilized for artificial intelligence) and especially the camera components. The main change is the new glass back, put in for wirelesscharging purposes, that's more than likely to be covered up in a case.

Amid muted reaction to the iPhone 8 range, shares of Apple and its suppliers have been hit in recent days. The iPhone X has a superior rear-facing camera subsystem, a dramatically better front-facing camera subsystem with 3D sensing technology that Apple calls a "TrueDepth" camera, and support for new features such as Apple's animated emojis.

Apple rates the iPhone 8 Plus as offering up to 21 hours of talk time, 13 hours of Internet use, 14 hours of video playback, or 60 hours of audio.
