Stalking case: Kejriwal demands strict against accused

Stalking case: Kejriwal demands strict against accused

Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala, was arrested on Saturday on the charges of stalking and harassing an IAS officer's daughter in Chandigarh. They are adult men, students of law, who are fully aware of the consequences of their actions, and hence must be appropriately punished.

Chandigarh police is meanwhile confused as to what to do with Vikas, because nothing in the incident suggests that it was a pre-planned activity.

"There were 2 guys inside the SUV, and they seemed to really be enjoying harassing a lone girl in the middle of the night, judging by how often their auto swerved, just enough to scare me that it might hit me", Varnika wrote. This case has nothing to do with Subhash Barala. She later filed an official complaint on the matter as well. This case has nothing to do with Subhash Barala. Opposition parties are accusing that BJP, who talks of "Beti Bachao, Beti padhao", is working to save his leader and his son by using government machinery rather than giving justice to a daughter in this matter. "Whatever action has been taken in this case was on the basis of girl's statement", insisted the DSP.

The victim told the reporters, "There were 2 guys inside the SUV, and they seemed to really be enjoying harassing a lone girl in the middle of the night, judging by how often their vehicle swerved, just enough to scare me that it might hit me.I tried to turn right from the lights but the SUV blocked my way, forcing me to go straight into sec-26".

As per reports, she called up the local police during the incident night and mentioned that she was being chased by Vikas along with a friend.

"In this case after making changes in the statement of the victim, the police had ensured the acquittal of the accused which was basically misusing the law and denying justice to the victim", she added.

"As a father of two daughters, I feel compelled to take this matter to its logical conclusion. I am the one who was under attack...but they are not questioned", she added. Also, party leader Subramanian Swamy is talking about taking this case through a public interest petition to the court.

"I would like to share with you all a horrendous experience we went through last night".

The courageous Varnika Kundu dialed 100 on her phone and India sighed a collective sigh of relief on reading that the police responded with the dexterity that was needed in this eleventh hour. Since Chandigarh is a Union Territory, Chandigarh police comes under the Home Ministry. "We are supporting the hashtag #BJPseBetiBachao, and want to ask what is the BJP's policy on protecting women and the likes of anti-romeo squads functioning in UP", said Manoj Lubana, an active leader of NSUI. On the other hand, the family suffering from the CCTV footage reportedly disappeared.

Haryana Congress has alleged that the CCTV evidences are being destroyed to protect the BJP Chief's son, two days after an IAS-officer's daughter accused son of a BJP leader for stalking and trying to kidnap her in a widely-shared Facebook post.
