Pregnant doctor about to deliver helps delivering a fellow patient's baby

After finishing her duty, Hess finally delivered her own baby whom she named Ellen Joyce.

Dr. Hess delivered Johnson's baby daughter and then twelve hours later, gave birth to a baby girl of her own. The other woman was Leah Halliday-Johnson, who was in labour with her umbilical cord wrapped around her baby's neck. Since the on-call doctor was on a break and they needed immediate assistance, Dr Hess jumped in.

As the doctor was in his way to reach for Halliday, Hess thought that the lady need immediate medical attention so she made a decision to take it in her own hands. "The patient's ob/gyn was on their way but Dr. Hess (an ob/gyn herself) knew that the baby needed attention now!" She literally worked until the last second!

Hess put on another gown, covered her shoes with hospital boots and walked down to the patient's room to get to work.

A US-based doctor did something remarkable recently and the Internet just can't stop going gaga over her. "It makes you feel better, bringing a baby girl into the world, knowing there are women like her willing to step up like that".

"Doctor moms consistently take care of their own families as well as their patients and their respective families all the time", the post continued. When she was preparing to have her own child for a change, she noticed another soon-to-be mother in labor at Frankfort Regional Hospital.

That is a maternity leave well-earned. "She's a really special person", Halliday-Johnson said. "I was pretty anxious about coming in for the induction in the first place but this took my mind off it for a little bit", she says.

The wailing woman was reportedly one of Dr. Hess' previous patients who had undergone a checkup under her a couple of days ago.
