Noah Syndergaard makes 'Game of Thrones' cameo appearance

He instead got to show off his arm, throwing a spear as part of the Lannister army in the big, fiery, action sequence that closed out the episode.

A day after the episode, Syndergaard revealed how he landed the guest appearance. Introduced to the show by his mother, Syndergaard believes the fantasy drama series is the "greatest TV show of all time".

Both of Noah Syndergaard's teams lost on Sunday night. We'll simply say that Syndergaard was suited up for the Lannister army.

Syndergaard, who in a confusing mix of fantasy universes is nicknamed Thor, filmed the scene during MLB's off-season. (Watch video of appearance below).

The odds may have been stacked against the Lannisters as the episode came to a close, but I can assure you Mr. Met will sleep with one eye open after catching this week's installment.

While watching it though, many of us didn't realize that Syndergaard was even there. In the past, Coldplay drummer Will Champion made a cameo during the unforgettable Red Wedding sequence in the third season.

There have been plenty of cameos in the show over the years: Sigur Ros sang for Joffrey at his wedding to Margaery, and Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol had a little singalong while riding on horseback.

Syndergaard fought valiantly as a Lannister soldier, where his long blonde hair allowed him to fit into the Lannister family nicely.
