No Powerball victor raises jackpot over half-billion-dollar mark

One ticket was sold that is worth $1 million.

More than $500 million will be up for grabs in the next Powerball lottery drawing. According to Powerball, the lone $2 million victor from this drawing matched all five regular numbers as well as the PowerPlay, which multiplies non-jackpot wins. The all-time largest jackpot was last year's near $1.6 billion prize. Players should check every ticket, every time.

It'll be at the eighth-largest jackpot in USA lottery history.

Sliding into the eighth spot, the $510 million prize is in the top 10 all-time highest lottery jackpots ever. As it stands, the jackpot would be the 9th biggest Powerball prize in history. Odds are good you won't win at all.

There were 1,170 tickets that matched three numbers to win a whopping seven dollars. The current record holder is Donald Lawson of Lapeer, who won a $337 million Powerball jackpot on August 15, 2012.

Powerball tickets are $2 and available at most convenience stores and grocery stores. There were Match 5 winners in California and Florida.
