Maserati releases the first images of the new Ghibli Granlusso version

The new Maserati Ghibli Granlusso will make its global debut at the Chengdu Motor show in China on August 25, 2017.

The new 2018 Ghibli, then, showed up with a restyled fascia featuring a new front bumper, bits of chrome garnishing and new chrome grille bars to tie in with the rest of Maserati's latest range.

Extra equipment now available includes adaptive full LED headlamps with Matrix high-beam lamps that will not cause glare to oncoming traffic, while Maserati is also introducing systems to the Ghibli that will enable autonomous driving in future. To ensure owners and everyone else on the road don't forget the Ghibli's new name, there are GranLusso badge at the bases of the front fenders and body colour side skirts. Maserati reckons that the new rear bumper is sportier looking, and it's joined by a redesigned diffuser element.

The Ghibli GranLusso will also be offered with new active ADAS driver assist functionalities.

The restyling increases the aerodynamic efficiency substantially.

The facelifted Ghibli GranLusso should arrive in Australia later this year.

The changes are minor, but include renaming the sporty BMW 5 Series sedan rival the Ghibli GranLusso. United Kingdom prices and specifications have yet to be revealed, nor a release date. After four great years, the Ghibli is gaining a new GranLusso variant that boasts an exclusive look and a handful of technical upgrades.
