Marvel has released a batch of character portraits for their upcoming Inhumans TV series. Tracking-Board had the chance to ask ABC President Channing Dungey about the status of Ridley's show during the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

He's referring to the Ben Afflect meme that showed his awkward facial expressions in response to a question about the awful reviews for Batman v. Superman.

Jeph Loeb, who heads Marvel Television, dismissed the suggestion that the response to "Inhumans" would echo beyond the eight-episode project.

Reactions to the first trailer for Marvel's Inhumans were less than enthusiastic, to say the least, with criticism being directed primarily towards the poor production values. "The CGI, we actually had to go in and I think there was software that had to be built for it. I'm very excited for what we have planned for Season 5".

What were viewers complaining about?

Serinda Swan, who plays Medusa in the show, was asked about her character's ridiculous looking hair in the series, bad CGI that a lot of fans hated. Viewers also did not understand what power Ken Leung's character, Karnak, possessed. (The ABC airing of the first two hours will include nearly 10 minutes of footage not included in the IMAX showings.) Following the panel, Loeb said the decision to bring the premiere to IMAx was in part to create an event out of the series and make it more of an "appointment viewing" series as it transitions to TV.

The first two episodes will be screening in IMAX theaters for two weeks starting on September 1.

Won't the premiere be expensive?

Price range for such screenings depends on the exhibitors but it can be from $10 to $16 per ticket.

Marvel's Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. Check out a teaser to the series below to see if the complaints have any merit.
