Man United's Borthwick-Jackson turns down Ajax to join Leeds

Manchester United have confirmed their defender has completed a loan switch to Leeds United on 7 August.

But since Jose Mourinho's arrival he hasn't played a single game.

Dean Saunders has taken a swipe at Leeds United for the way in which the club has sacked managers over recent years.

Having joined Manchester United at the age of six, Borthwick-Jackson has made 14 senior appearances for the Red Devils.

With Borthwick-Jackson, will your squad be nearly complete, Leeds fans?

Borthwick-Jackson later spent the first half of the 2016/17 season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he registered seven appearances across all competitions.

Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has joined Championship outfit Leeds United on a season-long loan after rejecting the opportunity to further his development with Dutch giants Ajax.

The Whites announced on their official website on Monday that the 20-year-old has been snapped up on a season-long basis by the Whites, who are in desperate need of extra bodies in defence after Gaetano Berardi and Matthew Pennington both picked up injuries in the Championship opener against Bolton on Sunday. Leeds manager, Thomas Christiansen, said: "I've seen him a few times".

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is a rising star at Old Trafford, and despite the bad blood and ill-will between fans of the two clubs, it's a good move to bring a highly touted prospect on loan. Christiansen admitted the championship side are still looking to add more new faces to their squad this summer.
