Knicks Hire Craig Robinson For Front Office Role

Knicks Hire Craig Robinson For Front Office Role

Phil Jackson was dismissed at the end of June while Steve Mills took over as team president.

Well, at the very least the former president didn't hurt someone's chances of getting a job.

Mills and Perry form a front office regime with significant National Basketball Association experience.

Craig Robinson, the brother-in-law of former President Barack Obama, will join the Knicks in a front office role, The Vertical reported on Monday.

Robinson plans to fill multiple roles for the franchise, including player development and serving as general manager of the Knicks' development league team in Westchester, league sources said.

From 1979-83, Robinson starred as a forward at Princeton. He also coached at Oregon State and Brown.

Robinson, the oldest brother of former first lady Michelle Obama, spent last season as the Milwaukee Bucks' vice president of player and organizational development. Robinson has coaching and executive experience on the college and professional levels.

With a longstanding relationship with Mills and a respected pedigree around the basketball world, Robinson is yet another quality hire.

According to Charania, Robinson's job will be multi-faceted, taking on various different responsibilities in NY. A methodical approach is finally being embraced.
