Kevin Hart Calls on Fellow Stars to Help With Harvey Relief

The actor took to Instagram on Sunday night and shared a video where he calls on fellow A-listers to provide relief aid to the thousands of people in need.

"This is a serious matter", Hart said in the video according to Associated Press.

Hart committed to giving $25,000 in what he's calling "the Hurricane Relief Challenge". Five people are reported to have died as a result of the adverse weather conditions, which is expected to continue in Texas and Louisiana this week.

"We are now overseas in London and all I can think about is how devastated I am as I look at images of the damage Hurricane Harvey has caused", Drake wrote.

"At this point I'm going to start a real challenge", he continues about his Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge.

Comedian Kevin Hart asked his famous friends with ample financial means to join a donation daisy chain he began Sunday evening.

Hart calls the situation on Texas' Gulf Coast and in Houston, where feet of rain have fallen and caused risky flooding, "a serious matter" where people need help.

The celebrities included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Dave Chappelle, Beyonce, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Justin Timberlake and Steve Harvey. "I'm going to lead the charge and step it up in this way".

Kevin Hart is not the only celebrity thinking about Texas, talking about the storm damage, and asking for help on Instagram. He revealed to being emotionally moved to donate after learning about the tragedy, so much that he's egging his celeb pals on to contribute some money too. Singer Chris Young pledged $100,000 toward a $500,000 GoFundMe account benefiting the Red Cross.
