J. Cole Met With Colin Kaepernick, Expresses Support For QB In Baltimore

Not true. I'm sure he's aware that the honorable men and women who serve in our armed services and that they serve for the very right of citizens to protest when they see injustice ("Spike Lee announces rally at National Football League headquarters to support Colin Kaepernick", Aug. 8). Many believe that Kaepernick is being blackballed by the NFL for his decision to kneel during the national anthem in silent protest against police brutality toward people of color.

The Ravens were reportedly considering signing Kaepernick after quarterback Joe Flacco injured his back last month, but team owner Steve Bisciotti admitted the move would "upset some people".

Now, with training camps underway, Kaepernick may have just lost out on his two best chances to end up with a team, putting his 2017 season in further jeopardy.

"Absolutely not. Anybody who thinks there has been any conversations going on among teams about Colin Kaepernick is insane", he said.

"My original position was, I thought that the situation past year with him taking a knee didn't have anything to do with it", Baldwin said.

Harbaugh's brother, Jim Harbaugh, coached Kaepernick at San Francisco, giving him the starting job over Alex Smith when the team went to the Super Bowl during the 2012-13 season.

"All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue", Mara told Jenny Vrentas of MMQB.

In March, Lee ripped the league for not signing Kaepernick. "The clubs are making those individual evaluations to make the determination whether they think he can help them win, and that's true with any player".

The 29-year old QB was 1-10 as a starter for the Niners last season, throwing for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. We had a great visit with him. He also has a better Total Quarterback Rating (QBR) than half the backup quarterbacks signed right now. For us, we try to be in every situation we possibly can. But obviously there are other issues that go along with him.
