Sanchez wants Champions League football

Alexis Sanchez may have offered his strongest hint of likely Arsenal exit after bearing his mid out yesterday that he wants to play in the glamorous UEFA Champions League this coming season. I have made my decision, but now we wait for a response from Arsenal.

"I do [think they'll struggle], Arsenal need to be in the top four", the ex-England worldwide, 49, added.

Arsenal's 20-year stay in the Champions League will end in 2017-18 after they finished fifth in the Premier League to drop into the Europa League.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is feeling "positive" that Alexis Sanchez will stay at Arsenal beyond the summer transfer window. That's after the Chilean superstar admitted he wants to play in Europe's major club competition next term.

"There is not a lot to resolve at the moment with the player".

And he poured fuel on the fire during a visit to his homeland over the weekend by revealing he wants to play in the Champions League next season.

"He needs a break now", the German defender said.

"My feeling is that he feels good and comfortable here".

The 18-year-old France forward has been linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs, and Arsenal were reported to have made a £100-million (S$179.4m) offer for the youngster having last week signed Mbappe's global teammate Alexandre Lacazette for around £44m. I've dreamt about it since I was little.

But Sanchez - now back in Chile taking an extended break following his participation in the Confederations Cup.

"He's done a lot for us in the last season, he played nearly every single game and played the Confederations Cup".

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez should be left alone to decide his future, captain Per Mertesacker has said, as speculation continues to swirl about the Chilean's plans.

"He has his qualities, you can not find those everywhere". 100 per cent, I expect him to stay.

"He has shown them and we have embraced him".

"If someone doesn't want to be at the club, Arsenal are a big club and you don't want players who don't want to be there".
