Samuel L. Jackson to Return as Nick Fury For Captain Marvel

We don't have official confirmation from Marvel just yet, but separate rumors from other sources and some hints from Jackson himself add some credence to Deadline's inside source. However, actor Samuel L. Jackson has been absent from the franchise since 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, leading many fans to wonder when he will return. If anything, it'd be a little weird if there weren't some MCU crossover happening there. The subject came up in an interview with We Got This Covered springing off the subject of a possible Nick Fury solo film.

Jackson even alluded to be involved in the movie saying: "I'm always open and game". Well, let me know in the comments why you think it will or won't be a good movie.

In the comics, Captain Marvel also works with Logan (Wolverine) and Thing, and fights Sabretooth and Black Widow, but there's no word yet on whether they will appear in the upcoming movie.

Plans for Captain Marvel were first announced in early 2016, with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck set to direct, and Brie Larson taking the central role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers. Captain Marvel will be release between the two Avengers installments, which could allow a Fury return linking Carol to the greater MCU. And they're like, "Nick Fury is not in Wakanda!"

Captain Marvel is slated to begin shooting next January, and hit theatres in March 2019.
