Police search for active shooter in Alabama

Kenneth Dion Lever is suspected to have shot and killed three people inside a Gardendale home this morning, and police are now on the hunt to find him before more people are hurt.

Kenneth Dion Lever, 52, of Florida, is being sought by police, who described him as "armed and risky", according to the Gardendale Police Department's Facebook page.

Authorities released a photo of a possible suspect identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Lever from the Pensacola, Florida area.

Police believe the suspect may be driving a black 2007 Lincoln Navigator with Florida tag number 689NFN.

BREAKING: active shooter in Gardendale, AL. He is considered armed and unsafe. A perimeter was set up mid-morning Wednesday up by multiple police agencies that have responded to the shootings.

The shooting took place at a mobile home park near the city of Birmingham earlier Wednesday.

Gardendale's mayor has described this as an "active shooter" situation. The girl, according to public records, had been seeing a therapist and the therapist called the mother with concerns. According to the department, a protection from abuse order was issued against Lever in Jefferson County just a year ago. She wants to sleep in my bed and she wants to sleep with the lights on.' .

Separately, court records in York County, Pennsylvania, show Lever is scheduled to go on trial there on sexual abuse charges on September 11.

He is current free on $200,000 bond in those cases. He was again jailed on October 15, and posted an additional $100,000 to secure his immediate release.

The cases are scheduled for jury trial in York County Court of Common Pleas on September 11, according to online court dockets.
