Netflix details Narcos season three, shares teaser trailer

Well, based on both the content of this teaser for season three and the fact that it exists it all, it's pretty clear they opted for the former. So, our guess is that yes, we'll be plenty intrigued beyond Escobar. This truly drives home the idea of Narcos Season 3 arriving as a reset of the story, though, remaining under the same thematic structure. Many wondered how the show would continue with the main character, cocaine drug lord Pablo Escobar was killed off in season two. "There's a revolving-door aspect to narco kingpins and we'll certainly exploit that".

"Cocaine cartels are about succession", says Pedro Pascal's DEA Agent Javier Pena in the new teaser.

José Padilha and Eric Newman executive produce the show, which is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.

Here is Netflix's official synopsis for Narcos Season 3. Season 2 concluded the bloody manhunt for Escobar (Wagner Moura), but now attention turns to the Cali Cartel. "Led by four powerful godfathers, this cartel operates much differently than Escobar's, preferring to bribe government officials and keep its violent actions out of the headlines", the announcement adds.

Season 3 debuts on September 1, with the tagline "Rise of a New Empire" and Kerry Bishe from Halt and Catch Fire playing the wife of a Colombian money launderer.

The popular Netflix series is set to premiere on September 1 and will follow the second season's events where Pablo Escobar was finally killed in a heated confrontation.
