National Basketball Association free agency grades: Sacramento Kings to add Vince Carter

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Vince is headed to the Sacramento Kings on a one-year deal. The Grizzlies were the sixth team he has played with in his Hall of Fame-caliber career.

For his career, Carter is averaging 18.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Although his tenure in Memphis started rough, Carter has since bounced back in the last two seasons, showing that he still has something left in the tank.

Either way, we can only hope that Carter plays forever. Gay opted out of a deal worth a little more than $14 million for next season.

But for how much experience he brings to a young Kings roster, Carter's fit on the court makes sense for numerous reasons as well.

Carter, 40, is the NBA's oldest active player and joins Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki as the only two players from the 1998 draft class still in the league. He was a second-team All-NBA selection in 2001 and a third-team selection in 2000.

He now stands 27th, just behind Patrick Ewing, with 24,555 points.
