MLS All-Star Fan XI presented by Target headed by hometown stars

Amongst FIFA World Cup Champions are Brazilian Kaká (Orlando City SC), German Bastian Schweinsteiger (Chicago Fire) and Spain's all-time leading scorer and reigning MLS Most Valuable Player David Villa (New York City).

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Schweinsteiger, who was part of Germany's victorious 2014 World Cup team, has been voted in following an impressive first season in the MLS with Chicago Fire.

No player of the Montreal Impact was selected for the all-star game the MLS. The Paraguayan global was twice named MLS Player of the Week and was also named to the MLS Team of the Week on five occasions.

There is a solid USA presence in the fan XI as well, with 2014 World Cup veterans Michael Bradley of Toronto FC, Sporting Kansas City defender Graham Zusi, Houston Dynamo midfielder DaMarcus Beasley, and Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard all included.

Almirón has scored eight goals and added eight assists on the season.

Atlanta United defender Greg Garza and teammate Miguel Almiron are also making their first appearance in the All-Stars side. The 11th starter is Toronto's Sebastian Giovinco, who was picked in a vote tied to EA Sports' FIFA 17 video game. His combined total of goals and assists ranks fourth in MLS in 2017.

Eleven of the remaining 13 spots on the MLS All-Star roster will be made by Fire head coach Veljko Paunovic, while two players will be selected by league commissioner Don Garber.
