Kid Rock Teases Michigan Senate Run

On Wednesday, the self-professed "American Bad Ass" launched a website,, promoting his supposed bid to be a U.S. Senator representing his home state of MI.

The portal he was referring to features a banner photo of Kid Rock sporting a leather jacket, a pair of visors, and a panama hat. Ritchie tweeted. "The answer is an absolute YES".

Musician Robert James Ritchie aka Kid Rock, 46, might have his sights set on running for U.S. Senate.

He recently released a new album called "Lips" that is for sale on his official website, where he also promises that if you spend $35 in his online merchandise store you will get a "Kid Rock For Senate" bumper sticker. The site also boasts a variety of slogans, including "In Rock We Trust", "Born Free" and, um, "Pimp of the Nation".

However, Kid Rick has insisted on Twitter that the website is real, promising fans that a "major announcement" is coming soon. Debbie Stabenow, the MI incumbent up for re-election in 2018, even sent an email soliciting donations to help her fend off Ritchie.

The singer's party refused to provide further details about his posts and asked the media to refer to his Facebook page for future announcements.

Twenty years ago, Robert Ritchie, aka Kid Rock, wanted to be a cowboy. Stabenow has been in the Senate since 2000.

"It just reminds me of Europe", Kid Rock said.

Harcek said Rock's small town boy who made it big may energize the same base that voted for President Trump.

Michigan GOP press officer Sarah Anderson told Fox News in February that she was unaware if Rock would run for office in the state, but that she thinks it "would be awesome" if he did. Debbie Stabenow for the elections next year. Stabenow, in a Twitter post on Wednesday, wrote: "I know we both share a love of music". "I'll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and exhausted of their bullshit!"
