Jurgen Klopp unsure on Lucas Leiva future amid links to Lazio

Lucas Leiva's ten-year Liverpool career could finally be drawing to a close after Lazio submitted a £5 million bid for the midfielder.

The Bosnian midfielder, speaking to Mediaset Premium (via Football Italia), claims that the Rome-based club want to presumably "challenge" for the Champions League spots in the Italian top-flight, with the former Brazilian worldwide enforcer seemingly emerging as the flawless acquisition if they're to achieve their ultimate ambition.

The former Gremio star arrived at Liverpool in 2007 and spent many of his early years at Anfield being the scapegoat for Reds' supporters.

Lazio are looking for a solid replacement of Lucas Biglia who made his move to Milan and in Lucas Leiva, they could get a like for like replacement.

Liverpool manager Klopp has responded to the speculation over the future of the 30-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder.

Should the move be completed, it brings to an end Lucas' time at a club where he really had to fight to earn the fans' appreciation.

Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last season and will be aiming to progress to the group stage of the 2017-18 Champions League campaign.

Reports in both England and Italy suggest the transfer is likely to be concluded soon, with the Brazilian having been pulled from tonight's pre-season friendly against Wigan.
