Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Launches GST Rates Finder App

The central government has made the GST in initiation shape 1 July and has propelled GST Rates Finder Mobile App to give precise duty rate data.

The mobile app can be downloaded on any smartphone and can also work in offline mode.

The user can determine the GST rate for a good or a service by entering the name or Chapter heading of the commodity or service.

Further, the ministry said that the Input Tax Credit Scheme under GST does not allow ITC of membership of a club, health and fitness centre.

Speaking at the state capital, the Union minister projected Chhattisgarh as the future logistic hub of the country, citing advantages due to the geographical location of the state. In that site, people can observe the different GST rates as CBEC. Their search relied on the description of the goods or services or section or heading number. The application, accessible on the Android platform, is relied upon to help clients in finding exact rates under the new assessment services. He noted that authorities and businesses were "unprepared or under-prepared" for the tax regime and said its launch should have been deferred by two months, while the GSTN (goods and services tax network) should have been put on a trial run.

It also contains the description of goods or services and the chapter heading of the Harmonised System of Nomenclature (HSN).

On July 1, India implemented Goods and Services Tax - a first of a kind for the nation.
