Chelsea Close-In On £70m Deal To Sign 40-Goal Hitman

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £70 million, according to reports in England and Germany.

The Gabon worldwide had previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, which reportedly fell through and has more recently been linked with a move to the Chinese Super League, AC Milan and Chelsea - in which the latter has recently been reported as a keen suitor.

In further Chelsea news, the Daily Mirror has suggested the Premier League champions are set to beat Juventus in the race for Real Madrid defender Danilo.

But, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea could potentially sign the prolific scorer Aubameyang for £60 million, which would see the club break its transfer record.

The star player is now training with the Dortmund team in the pre-season, with several clubs keeping an eye on the Bundesliga sensation.

Scunthorpe chairman Peter Swann claims the Gers have accepted a bid for the 23-year-old who was loaned out to the Irons last season - but not from them.

Aubameyang has earned a reputation as one of Europe's top attacking talents in recent years, scoring 85 Bundesliga goals for Dortmund since joining from Saint-Etienne back in 2013.

Speaking at the Gunners' pre-season tour of Australia, Giroud said: "It [leaving] is an option to be honest with you". I am an Arsenal player and for the moment I am here.

"I had an awesome welcome from the fans and from the club and it has been five wonderful years for me". "For me, what matters is that he is here and that he is fit".
