Billie Lourd Accepts Carrie Fisher's Disney Legends Award

Hosted by the Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney company, Bob Iger, the event honoured 10 stars who have contributed to the legacy of Disney.

Hamill and Fisher were named Disney Legends during a ceremony Friday at the company's biannual fan convention, the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Among her many voiceover credits, Goldberg has also voiced roles for Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, Japanese animated feature Captain Planet and the Planeteers, and the classic 1995 series Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist.

The legendary actress and entertainer was a surprise honoree at the event and she is now billed as the world's first LEGOT if you add the Legends Award to her Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

"I loved her. And we were like siblings, the good and the bad".

Among them was Carrie Fisher, the late "Star Wars" princess, who was remembered by Walt Disney Co.

Carrie starred in the Star Wars films as Princess Leia. "So to become part of the Disney family is a big moment for her".

Her last "Star Wars" movie, and her last part alongside Hamill, will be in "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi", due for release in December.

Just flawless. We're sure Carrie would've loved this tribute. "And my mother always said, 'One day I'm going to take you kids [to Disney]'".

"What a great thrill it was to come back in The Force Awakens. There was a comfort level with each other, we could rely on each other, and there was a deep respect". "If she was here, she would have flipped me the bird at least twice already".

Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the space epic, also remembered Fisher during his acceptance speech, Associated Press reports.

The seven other newly inaugurated Legends were Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, the directors Julie Taymor and Garry Marshall, animator Clyde Geromini, comic artist Manuel Gonzales, and theme park designer Wayne Jackson.
