Trump Says He Is '100%' Willing To Testify Under Oath About Comey

The president's public statements were the first since Comey testified Thursday, accusing Trump of asking him to "let go" of the FBI's Michael Flynn investigation and lift the "cloud" of the Russian Federation investigation.

In his testimony to Congress last Thursday, Mr Comey laid bare on Capitol Hill months of distrust of the President, asserting that Mr Trump had fired him to interfere with the probe of Russia's ties to the Trump campaign.

Earlier Friday, Trump weighed in for the first time about the testimony on Twitter, claiming "total and complete vindication".

". and WOW, Comey is a leaker!". Legal experts and pundits say that, along with the firing of Comey itself, could amount to obstruction of justice. "No plausible case. We must distinguish crimes from "political" sins".

Article 5 is the most significant portion of the agreement that binds member nations to defend militarily defend each other, a provision that Trump noticeably did not address during his recent trip with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies in Sicily.

Asked if he would repeat his claims about Comey under oath, Trump said: "100%".

Comey has accused Trump of firing him to derail an investigation into Russian interference in U.S. elections and then lying about the motives for the move.

Trump also accused the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director of saying things that "just weren't true" in his testimony but added that Comey also "confirmed a lot of what I said". Mr. Comey himself has encouraged you to release them.

Trump has continuously denied allegations that he had asked Comey to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser (NSA) Michael Flynn's alleged ties with Russian Federation.

Lawyer Marc Kasowitz will file the complaint with the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Justice Department's inspector general, CNN said, citing two unidentified sources.

During Thursday's hearing, Donald Trump was unusually silent on social media, even as Mr Comey accused his administration of spreading lies.

All of which leads to the important follow-up questions: how exactly does Donald Trump Jr. know what the president told Comey in the Oval Office?

"No he did not", the president said. She called Mr Comey an "honourable individual".

"One hundred per cent.I would be glad to tell him (special counsel Robert Mueller) exactly what I told you", Trump said at a joint news press conference in the Rose Garden of the White House with the visiting Romanian President.

Asked directly if Comey lied before the Senate intelligence committee when he testified that Trump asked for the pledge and that the probe be deep-sixed, the president did not use that word. "He's everything that's wrong in Washington", Lewandowski said.
