Taylor Swift music returning to Spotify

Swift, who openly condemned streaming platforms for years (except Apple Music of course), will make her music available Friday at midnight. The album as a whole is definitely a new sound for the singer, with songs - as she promised - that are more about emotional connection and politics than anything else.

Perry previously denied her new song "Swish Swish" is a direct response to "Bad Blood", although she described the track as a "middle finger" in the NME interview.

It's a big move for Swift, who yanked her entire music catalog from Spotify in 2014, not long after the release of 1989, which was her first all-pop album. "Taylor Swift" is the third trending topic on Twitter worldwide.

Whether Swift and her management team simply decided it would be in their best interests to return to Spotify and reap the benefits of its 50 million subscribers, or if they struck a deal with the service, is unclear. She'd initially taken her music off of Spotify, claiming that the business didn't compensate artists fairly for their work. The drama stems from Swift accusing Perry of poaching backing dancers from her world tour. Swift allowed Apple to stream it after the music platform chose to pay artists royalties during its free three-month trial. Another said: "I aspire to be as petty as taylor swift releasing her discography for streaming the weekend katy perry's album drops", and one other weighed in: "This is way more than just a beef. this is sabotage". The announcement was made late yesterday evening by Taylor Swift's official fan account.

They are saying Taylor's decision comes as a celebration of her 1989 album selling over 10 million copies. Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls [her fans]. Then there's Perry's new single "Swish Swish", which appears to be a direct shot back at Swift.

No Taylor you are not about to do this to Katy you [snake]. "Honestly, it's really like she started it and it's time for her to finish it".
