Sandy Hook group dumps Megyn Kelly as event host

Kelly, who moved to NBC from Fox News this year and now hosts a Sunday evening news magazine show, defended the decision to interview Jones, citing President Donald Trump's interest in InfoWars.

Nelba Marquez-Greene, whose 6-year-old daughter Ana Grace was killed at Sandy Hook, said she fears that giving Jones exposure would encourage Jones' followers who have harassed her and others.

Growing outrage from Sandy Hook massacre victims' families has prompted JPMorgan Chase to remove its ads from NBC News' new Megyn Kelly interview program-because of Kelly's interview with controversial conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

She also said that she respects the decision by the nonprofit Sandy Hook Promise to drop her as the host of its Promise Champions Gala on Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

And now an advertiser is reportedly pulling from NBC programming until after the episode airs on June 18.

Kelly's decision to interview Jones was criticized widely on Twitter.

She should have thought this one through.

Megyn Kelly should've realized this was gonna end badly for her.

Gun control advocates and families of the Sandy Hook tragedy are asking NBC to pull an interview with "Infowars" radio host Alex Jones.

The parents of children who died in the Sandy Hook shooting disagreed.

"Giving him a platform would mean he goes unchallenged, and that's not the case in any way", Cole said. However, he believes that the media "exacerbated" the situation in order to garner more sympathy from the public.

The full interview with Mr. Jones is now slated to air this weekend on "Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly". When he received the initial call, the interview was sold to him as a profile on his life.

He then accused Kelly's interview of being "propaganda" because she interrogated him about his views on the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting and other issues, arguing that they "clip and misrepresent" his positions. After the group caught wind of Kelly's interview with Jones, it rescinded the invitation on Tuesday. He believes that NBC purposefully scheduled the interview's air date on Father's Day because he is a father himself.

"They don't get angry about the half a million dead Iraqis from the sanctions", Jones responds in an answer Kelly immediately calls out as "a dodge".

"In Megyn Kelly's America, cruelty gets you on national TV", she wrote.

The network has been taken aback by the response to booking Jones, the "Infowars" host who has questioned whether the killing of 26 people in 2012 at the school in Newton, Connecticut, was a hoax.
