Paul George committed to playing for Pacers in 2017-18

George said Thursday that he was committed to playing with the Pacers through next season.

Fans got to see their favorite athletes compete against each other.

Naturally, George said his goal is to win a championship with the Pacers, and another goal will be to make next year's All-Star team, which will give him a nice payday.

"I am a Pacer".

Fueled with new TV money, the Lakers spent like drunken sailors in the summer of 2016, giving Deng a 4-year, $72 million deal, and Mozgov 4-years, $64 million.

Over the past four months, George has seemingly heard it all.

Kevin Pritchard, Bird's successor as the team's top decision-maker, and coach Nate McMillan need to know how to proceed during this crucial summer. With the No. 2 overall pick likely to be Lonzo Ball, a nice little core around D'Angelo Russell, Ball, George, Jordan Clarkson, and Brandon Ingram allows them lots of options around the wing and even more in the trade market.

George played two seasons at Fresno State, averaging 15 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.

This is a bummer for fans in IN, but we're still a year away from George being gone.

IN struggled after the All-Star break last season before clinching the No. 7 seed in the final week of the regular season.

He helped lead the Pacers to Eastern Conference Finals appearances in 2013 and 2014, only to fall to LeBron James and the Miami Heat both times.

As more teams express interest in acquiring George, the Pacers can just stand pat, watch a bidding war ensue and simply take the best offer if they do indeed decide to deal. "It's hard not to believe that because we did the best against Cleveland of anyone and we could have won that series".
