Monaco player says he would be 'very tempted' to join Manchester United

The 23-year-old Brazilian worldwide was handed his senior professional debut by Mourinho when they previously worked together at Real Madrid.

A move to Manchester United "would be very tempting", says Monaco midfielder Fabinho, who has been linked with the Old Trafford club.

Fabinho is reported to be close to joining Man Utd for a transfer fee in the region of € 40 million.

Jose Mourinho will be pleased as punch, having been a long-time admirer of the Brazilian midfielder, who was an important member of Monaco's Ligue 1 winning side last season.

Fabinho looks set to be just one of United's big-money signings this summer, with Mourinho already snapping up defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica last week.

Andrea Belotti, of Torino, has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and speculation about a sensational return of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid has also been rife amid allegations of tax evasion surrounding the Portuguese forward.

"It's a tempting invitation", he stated. "I would first talk to my agent, Monaco too, to decide everything right. But its a great club, sure enough I would think well about it".

The Brazilian global made his name as a right-back but excelled in a holding midfield role last season to help Leonardo Jardin's side clinch the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG.

Perhaps Fabinho is that guy, and this idea received a significant boost today with eye-catching remarks made by the 23-year-old Brazilian.
