Modern Warfare Remastered boxed copy all but confirms standalone release

Modern Warfare Remastered boxed copy all but confirms standalone release

We know it's coming; scratch that, everyone knows it's coming.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, the remake of the 2007 classic that came bundled with last year's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, may be getting a stand-alone version.

The story began yesterday over on Charlie Intel.

It's worth pointing out that the official Modern Warfare Remastered FAQ still says, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is only available through the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare".

It's priced at $39.99, which is $20 below the usual USA full price.

According to CharlieIntel, retailers have already begun receiving boxed editions of the game (you can see an image below). Looks like that is about to change, however. Those pages have since been removed but Call of Duty fan site 'Charlie Intel' managed to spot them beforehand. The game would presumably become standalone on PC on the same date. At the same time, other retailers claim a June 20th release, so there's the chance that Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered might even release later today.

So far, Activision has not confirmed or denied this leak but E3 is in less than a month so perhaps they were saving this announcement for then. Or do you think it's too late?
