Miles Teller Allegedly Arrested for Public Intoxication in San Diego

Miles Teller - the fingers-bloodying student drummer in "Whiplash" - was free Monday after being arrested early Sunday on suspicion of being drunk in public.

According to People, police officers in San Diego approached Teller because he appeared intoxicated and was having trouble keeping his balance. The cop asked Teller questions and the situation quickly escalated. Miles was reportedly offered an opportunity to go to a detox centre, where he could stay for a few hours to sober up, but he refused.

When authorities started questioning him about how much he had to drink, he became uncooperative and nearly fell into a traffic lane, according to TMZ. That didn't happen. TMZ was told that he refused to follow directions so the staff rejected him. The police officer then put Teller in handcuffs.

Miles Teller had a not-so-fantastic weekend that culminated in his arrest in San Diego.

The actor was in a holding cell for four hours before he was finally released on bail.

At that point, Miles was arrested for being drunk in public. a misdemeanor.

Neither Miles Teller nor his reps have spoken out about the situation at this time.
