Melania Trump, son Barron move into the White House

The First Lady has officially moved to the White House after son Barron finished his school year in NY.

The first lady tweeted the news on Sunday evening after she arrived at the White House with President Trump and Barron, 11.

The White House's newest occupants arrived Sunday aboard the Marine One helicopter, NBC News reports. The first lady of America tweeted on Sunday night.

Melania was in New York City so that son Barron could finish his school year. Mrs. Trump was wearing a sleeveless white top and light brown culottes, and carried a matching Hermès Birkin bag, according to White House Wardrobe on Twitter, which tracks her fashion.

The move will also no doubt be welcomed by New Yorkers, who have footed a hefty security bill keeping the First Family safe in Trump Tower.

"It's official! @FLOTUS & Barron have made the move to DC!" The moment, captured on video during Trump's first and very high profile overseas visit as president, quickly went viral.

Barron will start at St Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, this autumn.

In doing so, Melania Trump became the only first lady in recent memory to delay her move to the nation's capital.

Melania Trump's parents, Viktor and Amalija Knav, were also on board.

Melania has also visited a number of children's hospitals in NY and Washington, D.C., and also other countries like Belgium and Italy in the past months, as a result of which, she was more popular than her husband when it came to public polls, during the president's first 100 days, the Telegraph reported.

A White House spokesman said: "The president has tremendous respect for Prime Minister May". The first lady attended a fundraising gala for Ford's Theatre with step-daughter Ivanka on June 5.
