Lawrence Taylor pleads guilty to DUI in where he hit cop vehicle

The Palm Beach Post reports that Taylor pleaded guilty Monday in Palm Beach County to DUI with injury or property damage.

Former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor has pleaded guilty to a charge of DUI, according to Palm Beach County Court records. Taylor was arrested back in September after hitting the side of a motor home with his vehicle, then swerving into a patrol auto.

Five hours after the crash, his blood alcohol levels were.082 and.084, according tot he arrest report. When confronted about whether he was drinking by the officer, Taylor replied by stating, "Apparently too much".

Besides that, Taylor will also have to do community service and pay $1,476 in court costs and fines.

Taylor is considered one of the greatest defensive players in pro football history and is a two-time Super Bowl champion and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also admitted to struggling with substance-abuse problems during his 13-year National Football League career.

An admitted cocaine user, Taylor has had several run-ins with the law since retiring from the NFL.

In 2011, he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing an underage prostitute and had to register as a sex offender.
