Floyd Mayweather Jr. confirms 'Undefeated Africa Tour ' postponement

The 40-year-old Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) has not fought since beating Andre Berto in September 2015.

Another source speculated Mayweather Promotions could be holding the MGM Grand for another boxing event for one of its other fighters.

It is believed that the reason for Mayweather's "Undefeated Africa Tour" postponement is because he has signed a mega deal to fight UFC super star Conor McGregor.

Mayweather has yet to agree to terms on a contract for the proposed superfight.

It's been well documented that Conor McGregor will have the advantage of youth on his side if he steps into the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather later this year. "I hope I can still train at that age".

Mayweather Promotions will request August 26 from the Nevada State Athletic Commission as the date for the once far-fetched match between the two fighters, according to an ESPN report. "Mayweather v McGregor will not be on the agenda for tomorrow's commission meeting", Bennett exclusively told World Boxing News in a further revelation on the situation at hand.

In recent days speculation that announcement is imminent has moved closer following Mayweather's promotional company dropping a hints and videos of Mayweather training emerged with titles mentioning McGregor's name from Fight Hype YouTube. The bout likely would be held at T-Mobile Arena or MGM Grand Arena and broadcast by Showtime. But the UFC and McGregor have made T-Mobile Arena their home. Mayweather and McGregor are two of the biggest trash talkers in sports, and both back it up.

The only problem with that date is that all signs have pointed towards McGregor and Mayweather facing off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and that date is now occupied by the BIG3 Championship Finals.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is hungry for a highly-anticipated Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout.
