In March, Remy Ma released Shether, a diss track aimed at Nicki Minaj. Minaj never officially responded to the song, and she wasn't at the BET Awards on Sunday. Despite the almost four decades since their start, the boys-turned-men of New Edition proved that they were still the best in the game when it comes to harmonizing and dancing in sync. The actors later joined New Edition for "If It Isn't Love".

If there's one thing that Twitter jokes have taught us, it's that award shows go for like, heaps long. The crowd was in awe, singing along and filming the performance with their phones.

Mars has been on an R&B adventure with his latest album, "24K Magic", which was inspired by '90s R&B.

Mars beat out Chris Brown, The Weeknd, Trey Songz and Usher for the award. But please know we are there with you in spirit and we are so incredibly proud of you Chance'.

Along with Best New Artist, Chance the Rapper was honored by the likes of Michelle Obama, Jesse Williams, and Common for the Humanitarian Award. "Chance is showing our young people that they matter". Because of you, countless young people will grow up believing in themselves.

Beyonce was the most nominated artiste and although she missed the event (thanks to new babies), she was able to sweep the Best Female R&B/Pop, Best Album and the Coca Cola Viewers Choice Awards, all for her record-breaking Lemonade album. The singer, who opened the show and won major awards throughout the night, closed his eyes and Twitter won't let him live it down. Philando Castile, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin.

Other winners included gospel rapper Lecrae and Migos, who took home best group. During the near 11:30 PM slot, legendary rapper MC Lyte announced presenter Issa Rae as Yara Shahidi, and while SZA was starting her performance of "Love Galore", technical issues screwed up the very beginning of the set, forcing her to start over. "Whoa", said Jamie Foxx, who presented an award after Mary J's performance.

Leslie Jones, a cast member of "Saturday Night Live", is hosting the BET Awards, which honor people of color for accomplishments in sports, music and other fields of entertainment.

Beyonce, who dominated last year's show with multiple wins and a show-stopping performance, is up for seven honors.
