Apple's iOS 11 update ends support for iPhone 5 and 5C

Screen recording is useful for everything from sneakily capturing your friends' Snapchats to uploading tutorials to YouTube, and while it hasn't been too hard to do on iOS in the past, with iOS 11 it's built right in-you no longer need a spare Mac with QuickTime.

His vision may finally come to fruition with the release of iOS 11, the new iPad operating software that was announced on Tuesday. Below is the feature that is new to iOS 11.

The new Files app brings all your files together. They've been around for decades, although in the US, they never became very popular, which may be why Apple decided it was never worth the effort to add native support for them.

Credit Suisse analyst Kulbinder Garcha says Apple gave a "more significant update than usual" with a plethora of new features, especially when considering that investors already have the iPhone X to look forward to. On the minus side, Facebook and Twitter integration in particular has been very useful for apps that use the social networks for federated login: expect to have to spend a bit more time typing in passwords once iOS 11 drops. On iOS 11, the page is customisable. This will save you a lot of hassle and the user experience will be enhanced as there will now be one less reason to turn to your iPhone every time an undesired track comes up.

If you're a regular Apple Pay user, you'll be pleased to hear that you can now transfer cash to friends and family.

The demo shows a watered-down version of the functionality, however; instead of being able to drag files directly between apps and open folders automatically by hovering over them, aka "spring loading, Troughton-Smith was only able to select multiple files and drag them from screen to screen".

A new feature which stops a driver receiving notifications on an iPhone when it detects the device is in a auto is being introduced to the next version of the phone's operating system. This of course made some users uneasy insofar that it would be preferable to enjoy Uber's service without having the app consistently monitoring a user's location. You may be able to check to see which are affected if your phone is running either iOS 10 or iOS 11 through the Settings menu. With today's operating system, you have to grant an app access to your entire photo library just to put a single filter on a dumb selfie. "No really, why would you buy one?"
