Anita Pallenberg dies aged 73

Iconic model and actress Anita Pallenberg has died, aged 73.

Pallenberg was an actress, model, and designer in her lifetime, not to mention a muse to the Rolling Stones.

However, her time with Jones corresponded with his descent into drug addiction, and he would occasionally beat Pallenberg and Richards, who was spending a lot of time with the two of them, drew closer to Anita. She taught Keith her sinister glare, taught Mick Jagger her wiggle, taught Brian Jones how to wear floppy hats.

She resumed acting in her 60s making a cameo in Absolutely Fabulous in 2001 and appearing in the 2007 film Mister Lonely.

Pallenberg was born in Rome in 1944 and later spent time in NY, where she was part of Andy Warhol's pop culture scene. Also, everyone else is writing one, so why on earth should she?

At the age of 16, Anita Pallenberg was expelled from school after which she started hanging out with the Dolce Vita crowd.

She was also said to have had a sexual relationship with Mick Jagger during the production of Performance.

Pallenberg and Richards became a couple in 1967, after he wooed her away from fellow Stones guitarist Jones, who beat Pallenberg while they were visiting Morocco with Richards that year. The Stones songs "Angie" and "You Got the Silver" were written about Pallenberg. "I will love you forever, dearest Anita", Buell wrote. She and Keith dated from that point onwards.

Anita's death was reported after her friend, actress Stella Schnabel, posted a photo and accompanying message on Instagram.

A spokesman for Keith said: "Anita Pallenberg passed away peacefully at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester yesterday June 13 with her family by her side".

So to celebrate the honorary Rolling Stones member, let's take a look back at Anita Pallenberg's timeless gypset style... We had good times & bad times, but I only remember the good times now.

When I got the news of her death, I was at a Nick Cave show in New York City, which was really the ideal place to mourn a bad seed like Anita - I sang "From Her To Eternity" extra loud in her honor. "I grow vegetables - I'm a vegetarian", she told The Guardian in 2008. In later life she, like Faithfull, acted as a sort of fairy godmother to the girls who recreated themselves in her image, Kate Moss included.
